We are a moderately sized but highly active club that participates in a range of activities from summer hiking in the Lake District to winter mountaineering in the frozen Scottish Highlands. We run a number of weekend trips throughout the year to North Wales, the Lake District, and the Scottish Highlands, with some more involved trips venturing to Norway and the Alps. Our weekend trips are a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends, and to get out of the city and discover some of the most breathtaking areas the UK has to offer.
Our club provides opportunities for members of all abilities, ranging from those who have never owned a pair of hiking boots, to those ready to strap into some crampons. All of our members learn something every time they go out; inexperienced and veteran members alike learning new skills and developing old ones.
Alongside our outdoor activities we also aim to run a socially thriving society. Our socials from the past year range from the Mansfield road and Canning circus bar crawls to more subdued but equally enjoyable cheese and wine or tea and cake evenings.
BMC Participation Statement
