Ben puts on a brave face whilst Jess despairs over the Scottish summer insectile situation outside (and inside) the minibus.
There's nothing better than a swim in the sea after a sweaty day up a mountain! Even if it was a wee bit chilly.
MONDAY - Daisy and Charlie went for a romantic woodland stroll and met a dog with a fancy for football.
MONDAY - Jack, Matt and Jess were feeling a cheeky climb up Jeffrey's Dyke to Sgurr Mhic Choinnich (948m).
MONDAY - The rest of us (Ben, Paddy, Shane, Adam, Jonny, Claire) opted for a scrambly day - from the Fairy Pools straight up The Spur (Sgurr an Fheadain), north along the ridge up and over and around 2/3 pinnacles. A lot of downclimbing and abseiling down impassable cracks - at one point we thought Ben would surely fall into a gully when he brought up the rear without use of the rope. ***SPOILERS*** he survived.

As well as being effortlessly fashionable and suave, these hats also prevent the feasting of midges on our beautiful mugs - handy or what??
(Paddy, Jess, Ben, Matt, Claire)
Our glorious home for the week - and Ben struggling to function.
TUESDAY - The gang (except Matt and Jack who fancied the scramble up the NW ridge to Bruach na Frithe and back down south to the Fairy Pools) at the top of Sgurr na Banachdaich (965m) (or Bananadick if you know no better), before Daisy, Adam and Jonny split off to take a shorter way down the side of the ridge and back to camp. The rest of us continued along the ridge in the mist...
(Charlie, Adam, Ben, Jonny, Paddy, Shane, Claire, Daisy - and Jess behind the camera)
...onto the Inaccessible (impenetrable) Pinnacle - an amazing scramble/climb up to the munro peak at 986m.
Being attached to five other people on one rope on small rocky ledges with limited visibility to the bottom of the climb provides many team-building skills and also an interesting improvement in your flexibility - there was a lot of wriggling through/around/over/under the rope as we rearranged at each rest point.
(Charlie, Shane, Paddy, Ben)
But of course we got to the top safely!
Paddy, Charlie and Shane.
Shane, Paddy, Claire - just chillin'.
Abbing off the In Pinn!
And making our way back to Glenbrittle.
We stumbled across a majestic Scottish waterfall.
Shane enjoying his fine evening meal, joined by his many little friends, The Midges.
Did I mention how incredible our camping spot was??
THURSDAY - Jess, Ben and Paddy start off their day of scrambling and climbing along Pinnacle Ridge...
...and Jess in true mountain goat style scurrying along the ridge!
Ben and Paddy producing some gourmet cuisine after their immense day of climbing!
FRIDAY - Naturally our last day was spent avoiding the rain at Talisker Distillery tasting whisky and then encore at the pub, plotting away at a good ole game of RISK
Note Jess's pineapple - her prize for bagging the most munros. Its life was tragically cut short later that evening after our beach bonfire, when it was completely obliterated across the minibus and campsite by some disrespectful club members!
SATURDAY - we followed these sheep all the way back to Nottingham after we decided satnavs aren't to be trusted after the previous Saturday's ferry debacle.
EPILOGUE - love blossoms on the Island of the Clouds...
TO BE CONTINUED
SATURDAY - Our 12 hour journey across the Northern swathes of England got off to an excellent start with Paddy and Ben showing off their parking skills. Driver hogging the most spaces wins.
